Daddy Daughter Girl Scout dance

20 March - Jamie and Jim went to the Daddy Daughter Girl Scout dance....It was 2 hours.  A bunch of dad's ont he walls, the girls taking and the younger girls screaming with every Justin Beiber song that came on the radio..... Jamie looked very nice in her dress.  She and Kim went and had their hair done that day.  Sorry about the photo - don't know how to make it straight up!!

Jamie cooks Baumkuchen

Jamie had to cook a German cake for her German class...She did it twice - once for a rehearsal and the other with her classmate for the real thing. Baumkuchen is a very hard cake since it has many layers.  It is basically 13-15 crepes with a filling in between and then covered in chocolate.............good-e :)

First one - the layers are too think but it tasted very good.

The real one - try #2.  Excellent job!!!!
The cakes were donated to the German Club for a German Cafe for parents and students to buy pieces and enjoy.  Jamie received 1 point extra credit on her end of quarter grade for making the cake.  She dun good!!!

Gettysburg

3 April - I took some exchange students to Gettysburg.  They came over on Friday night, we watched the movie - Gettysburg, then got up early to drive to Pennsylvania.  We toured the visitors center then hit the battlefield.  We did the activites of Day 1 and 3 then had lunch at General Pickett's Buffet.  Then we did the Day 2, LIttle Round Top action and departed.  The kids enjoyed it.  We had Zoe from Belgium, Duda from Brazil, Cemil from Turkey, Neara from Spain and Zoe's friend, Katie from Broadway, VA.  We also took Soen, my friend from Korea.  He and his family live here and his oldest daughter goes to school with Jamie.
